Bangladesh Heritage Foundation (BHF) is a statutory and autonomous institution established in 2006 and registered [Reg. No. S-7958 (1148)/08] under Societies Registration Act. XXi of 1860 in Bangladesh. It is a Non-Political, Non-profitable, voluntary Charity Organization.
The Foundation provides a forum for research, policy debate, analysis and dialogue on a wide range of issues impinging on our National Security, Democracy, War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and Genocide, promoting the spirit of war of Liberation, Human Rights, Gender/ Human Trafficking, Ethnic Rights and environmental issues. BHF firmly believes the creation of a Social Force will ultimate sustain democracy and democratic aspirations of the people of Bangladesh in the spirit of 1972 Constitution of Bangladesh.
BHF is largely dealing and assisting to the International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh. The Chairman, Mr. Waliur Rahman was a former Ambassador, Ministry of foreign Affairs; of BHF is the key architect to frame the International Crimes Tribunal Act, in 1972 when he was in Geneva. Two Prosecutors of Nuremberg Trial, Professor Jescheck and Professor Otto Von Trifterrer were consulted at the Max Plank Institute of Criminal Law, Baden Baden, West Germany and Professor Nial McDormatt, Head of the International Commission on Jurists (ICJ), Geneva assisted to draft the Act.
